Announcements

Recently there has been a very big announcement:

Gisela our Rector writes: "On Sunday I announced my intention to retire at the end of April after more than 8 years at St Paul's. It was not easy to tell people, I love St Paul's and I know that people are sad to see me go. However, there are still three months before my final Sunday on 15 April.  I hope and pray that my remaining time at St Paul's will be not just sad, but joyful too, as together we learn from our mistakes, celebrate and give thanks for all that has been good,  and look towards the future."

Our response: "We will be very sad to see Gisela go, having been blessed with eight years of her exemplary leadership and care at St Paul's. She has served the church of england for 34 years (Deaconess since 1984, Deacon since 1986 and Priest since 1994), and the C of E is a much richer place for her ministry. We wish her all the very best in her retirement!"

Other announcements

From about the middle of February til Easter we look forward to welcoming Jane Cawsey on a parish placement. Jane is training to be Reader.  She will join us for the Pilgrim course and on Sunday mornings, when she will occasionally lead part of the service, prepare intercessions and, on one occasion, preach.

With the figures still coming in, so far we know that over £1800 was raised at the church craft and cake sale!!! It was a great event, full of goodwill and community spirit. A massive well done, and many thanks to those involved; to all who organised it, made crafts/cakes, helped out, and came along -- you are wonderful.
